Surveyor

We are looking for an experienced Surveyor to join our Geomatics and Graphics Team in producing high-quality survey and graphics deliverables. This is a full-time, permanent position (subject to probation).
Role
Responsibilities will include capturing, processing, and presenting survey data, managing geospatial data and configuring survey equipment.
Main Duties
- Help coordinate archaeological field surveys, ensuring accurate data collection and documentation.
- Quality-assure survey data using industry-standard techniques and software (Leica Infinity).
- Input into archaeological graphics and figures production to ensure quality outputs.
- Help configure survey equipment to support efficient and accurate data collection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements and deliver high-quality results.
- Train staff members and implement survey protocols to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated with advancements in survey technologies and methodologies to enhance survey quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven track record in conducting, processing, and analysing archaeological field survey data using survey-grade instruments and software.
- Proficiency in producing high-quality graphics for archaeological reports using GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS Pro), CAD and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience in geospatial data management, adhering to industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and documentation.
- Demonstrable experience in workload management and timely delivery of illustrations.
- Driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Familiarity with 3D modelling, lidar/laser scan data processing, photogrammetry, structure-from-motion, or RTI.
- An honours degree in archaeology, geomatics or a related earth science discipline (NFQ Level 6/7 or EQF Level 6) or a relevant professional qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of drawing conventions and how to effectively visualise data.
- Team leadership experience.
