Post-Excavation Supervisor

Position Details
- Salary range (€36,400 – €40,040 – depending on experience)
Comparative to £32,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience) - 12-month contract, with possibility of extension
Role
Based in our Head Office in Kilrush, Co. Clare, you will work with the AMS post-excavation team and archaeological project managers across our network of offices.
You will contribute to the organisation of the post-excavation programme and support Project Managers and the Department Head in the completion of post-excavation stage projects. You will be responsible for:
- liaising with both internal and external specialists
- assisting in project finance tracking and programmes of completion.
- completion of finds and sample processing of small to large scale projects
- providing achievable targets for the processing team that meet project deadlines
- carrying out quality checks of completed processing and data entry
- helping to maintain the processing facilities.
You will also support the Department Head in training junior staff members in finds and environmental processing techniques, following the AMS and NMI post-excavation guidelines.

- A graduate in archaeology or a related discipline
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Good inter-personal skills, with the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels
- Experience in commercial fieldwork
- Experience in environmental (tank) and finds processing
- Experience in post-excavation data management
- A full Irish driving licence
- Specialism in archaeological finds (desired)
